Emergency Readiness Wheels
EAD & Associates, LLC is proud to present our latest product designed to help seniors and people with disabilities get better prepared for all kinds of disasters. We have partnered with EHS Publishing to stand behind the products in this series.
In a recent survey by the Kaiser Foundation, 70% of the Hurricane Katrina evacuees did not have an emergency plan in place prior to the disaster. This finding more than anything shows us that we need to continue to spread the message in our communities to get prepared in simple, basic terms that are easily understood. These wheels are tools to help accomplish that task.
The emergency preparedness wheels are sturdy, easy-to-use, and magnetized. They provide guidance on getting prepared and how to respond when a disaster occurs. The wheels are two-sided:
One side of the wheel provides advice on how to get prepared, including:
The other side provides advice on how to respond when a disaster occurs, including:

Tips for responding to hurricanes, earthquakes, hazardous material incidents, fire, flooding, terrorism, tornadoes/downbursts, and extreme hot/cold weather

Provides space to write important emergency contact numbers and information including fire, police, doctor, personal support network, pharmacy, service providers, medical conditions, physical/mental limitations, and other important information necessary during emergencies.

The content of the wheels will shortly be available in alternate/accessible formats such as Braille and large font. These versions will not comin in the same format but on CD-ROM
